The first-party Xbox game makes its console debut

In the midst of all the April excitement surrounding Xbox Game Pass, you may have forgotten that we have another Xbox first-party game landing on the service this week – and it’s the former PC exclusive Towerborne!
Yes, this is a side-scrolling action RPG developed by the team behind The Banner Saga, and we had some nice things to say about it last year, praising its “fun and addictive ARPG formula, colourful artwork and friendly multiplayer design”.
Towerborne has a release date of Tuesday, April 29th and a release time of 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm BST. The game will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Cloud Gaming, and obviously it’s already on PC.
The Towerbone team has also provided an extended list of release times, as seen in the image below:
It’s also worth noting that even though Towerborne is launching on console and Xbox Game Pass, it’s going to remain in an early access (or “Game Preview”) state for the time being. Then, when it’s ready to launch in full, it’s actually preparing to switch to a free-to-play release – something we don’t normally see from Xbox Game Studios titles.
We’ll throw some links to some of our other Towerborne coverage down below, and let us know in the poll how you’re feeling about this new Xbox Game Studios release. Excited, or do you have too much to play right now?
What did you vote in the poll? Will you be playing Towerborne? Tell us in the comments section.
