Barcelona vs. Inter Milan live score: UEFA Champions League result, updates as Thuram, Dumfries stun Barca early
The second UEFA Champions League semifinal gets underway on Wednesday as Barcelona host Italian giants Inter Milan in Spain for the first leg of their matchup.
Barcelona are chasing a famous quadruple, having already secured the Copa del Rey title last weekend and the Supercopa de Espana in January, and they are in the driver’s seat for the La Liga crown. A spot in the Champions League final would be icing on the cake, as Hansi Flick bids for one of the most impressive seasons in club history.
Inter were also eyeing a potential strong end to a promising season, but recent slips in Serie A play saw them concede the top spot in the standings to Napoli. A subsequent defeat in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal would prove a double hammer blow to their hopes of securing silverware, particularly after city rivals AC Milan eliminated them at the semifinal stage of the Coppa Italia this month.
With Paris Saint-Germain having secured a 1-0 advantage over Arsenal in the first leg of their semifinal yesterday, the focus now shifts to the other two semifinalists with a spot at the Allianz Arena in Munich on the line.

Barcelona vs. Inter Milan live updates, highlights from Champions LeagueHALFTIME: Barcelona 2-2 Inter Milan
WHAT a half of football from Catalonia! It feels like this match kicked off an eternity ago!
Inter went 2-0 up as they counter-attacked with venom and took advantage of multiple Barcelona defensive mistakes. Yet it always felt like Barcelona, who attacked with reckless abandon, would find a way back. Sure enough, Lamine Yamal’s brilliance got the hosts back in it, and as he continued to cook, Ferran Torres found the equalizer.
There’s everything to play for! Will the Jules Kounde injury be a turning point in this match? The France defender leads Barcelona in minutes this season, nearly 300 more than anyone else in the squad. He’s been a critical component of this team, and Eric Garcia does not give the team nearly what Kounde can on both ends of the ball.
42nd min: Barcelona have a real problem on their hands as Jules Kounde, who has been an absolute rock this season at right-back, is forced off with an injury. The versatile Eric Garcia comes on to replace him.
38th min: GOAL! BARCELONA! FERRAN TORRES COMPLETES THE COMEBACK!
Raphinha takes Pedri’s deep, cross-box delivery to the left post and pings it deftly to the front of net where Ferran Torres is waiting, and the Barcelona striker beats an unaware Federico Acerbi to the ball!
This Barcelona team is RELENTLESS!!!

36th min: Chance, Barcelona! TWO MORE CHANCES FOR BARCELONA! Ferran Torres gets on the ball on the run one-on-two, but he’s pushed just wide enough for the defender to get an angle and block the initial shot. Then Yann Sommer makes his best save yet as Dani Olmo’s follow-up from a central position atop the penalty area is parried away with a diving stop!
The hosts are in full control of the game!
35th min: Lamine Yamal is a kid man possessed. He cooks again and finds room for a cross which nearly reaches Raphinha in front of goal, but Yann Sommer comes flying out of net to push away the delivery right in front of the Brazilian forward.
30th min: Chance, Barcelona! Barcelona have Inter back on their heels now, as Dani Olmo gets on the ball at the top of the penalty area and somehow manages to squeeze through the tiniest space between two Inter defenders. The pressure is enough to put off his shot, however, as he just rolls the ball right to Yann Sommer, a disappointing finish from a central area.
27th min: Chance, Barcelona! LAMINE YAMAL ALMOST DOES IT AGAIN! He gets the ball on the byline to the right of goal and cuts back effortlessly, which sees a defender go absolutely flying by out of touch. From an impossible angle, he nearly scores again minutes after his first, as he tries to roof it from the right and is only thwarted by a slight touch from Yann Sommer, with the ball crashing the crossbar and rebounding out.
It’s Messi-like time and time again from the Barcelona teenager!

24th min: GOAL! BARCELONA!!!!!!! LAMINE YAMAL SCORES A WONDERFUL SOLO GOAL! BARCELONA ARE RIGHT BACK IN IT!
The 17-year-old, who played down links to Lionel Messi ahead of the match, beats a man on the right before cutting inside at the top of the penalty area. He gets space between three Inter players, threading the needle perfectly, before delivering a pinpoint curler that beats Yann Sommer to the far top corner!
It’s only bangers today in this match!!!! What a sensational strike!

— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) April 30, 202521st min: GOAL! INTER MILAN!!!!!! AN OUTRAGEOUS GOAL FROM DENZEL DUMFRIES HAS INTER 2-0 UP!!!!
A corner from the left finds Acerbi at the top of the six-yard box, and he sends it weakly towards the face of goal, but instead of Wojciech Szczesny coming to claim it, Dumfries launches his body into the air and contorts his frame to produce an insane scissor kick in midair which crashes the ball into the back of the net!
Barcelona are STUNNED at home right now!!!!! They have a long way back now!

19th min: Chance, Barcelona! Ferran Torres misses wide again!
Lamine Yamal wins a corner, which is delivered to the far post where Inigo Martinez rises high to try and meet the ball. Yann Bisseck puts his body on the line as he comes flying in to defend, clearing it out for another corner on the opposite flank.
This one finds Torres just outside the top corner of the six-yard box, but his sweet strike on the volley doesn’t find the target, instead flashing across the face of goal and sailing wide right!
12th min: Chance, Barcelona! FERRAN TORRES MISSES! Lamine Yamal does brilliantly to feed a fizzed cross right to the feet of Torres, but his first touch is poor and he cannot recover to get a good strike on the bobbling ball, falling over while firing it just wide of the near post!
VIDEO: Watch Ferran Torres miss in UK
10th min: Barcelona players have ended up on the turf all across the penalty area through the first 10 minutes. That has the home crowd up in arms, but they’ve all been soft so far. Give the referee credit for not being drawn into a bad decision.
Maybe he could have thought about awarding Lamine Yamal a penalty for an Alessandro Bastoni challenge, but there’s really nothing in it.
5th min: It’s been all Barcelona since the opening goal, and if there were any concerns about Lamine Yamal’s health after the warmup scare, those have been put to bed. The youngster is cooking early, and his cross to the far post just evades a sliding Ferran Torres by inches.
Strap in, this game feels like it will be an electric one. Inter will have a lot of defending to do, especially now that they’ve snatched an early lead to protect.
1st min: GOAL! INTER MILAN! MARCUS THURAM SCORES 30 SECONDS INTO THE MATCH! WHAT A START!!!!!
Straight after kickoff, Inter are into the attack, and while Denzel Dumfries’ initial cross along the face of goal only finds Jules Kounde, the Barcelona defender’s clearance is poor. It comes right back to Dumfries on the recycle, and his second attempt to put the ball into danger finds Thuram in front of net.
While the delivery is just slightly behind the Inter striker, a moment of ingenuity sees Thuram produce a glorious behind-the-back heel flick which finds the back of the net!!!! It’s the fastest goal in the history of the Champions League semifinals!

— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) April 30, 2025Kickoff: After a moment of silence in remembrance of Pope Francis, they’re under way in Catalonia! A hugely important 90 minutes in the course of this season’s Champions League, with so much to gain and so much to lose on both sides of the ball!
There was a scare before the match, as Lamine Yamal came off the pitch during warmups with what looked like a possibly muscle injury, but the youngster remains in the starting lineup. That is something to keep an eye on as this game progresses.
Barcelona vs. Inter Milan: Pre-match commentary, analysis, more15 mins to kickoff: Barcelona have been sensational this season on all fronts, with Hansi Flick’s Bundesliga style of play ripping through both domestic and European opposition. Thierry Henry has taken notice, praising the team ahead of today’s kickoff.
Will they make good on their former striker’s faith today and put one foot in the Champions League final? Kickoff is minutes away!
“To be able to compete like they are doing in the league, in the #UCL… Is just outstanding.”
Thierry Henry has been impressed with Barcelona’s form this season 👏 pic.twitter.com/aSbfl2vKWL
— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) April 30, 202530 mins to kickoff: Lautaro Martinez is in exceptional Champions League form, having scored in five straight European matches, including his hat-trick against Monaco to cap off the league phase. Yet Inter are coming into this match off the back of three straight domestic defeats, a stretch in which Martinez did not score a single goal.
Will he relish being back on the European stage, or will his recent domestic slump carry over? Lautaro has been criticized in the past for going invisible in the biggest games of the season. His winning goal in the Copa America final promised to change that narrative, and the recent UCL hot streak is promising as well, but going invisible now would bring the negativity right back into the forefront.
The job is not done yet for the Argentine.
Lautaro Martinez has scored in each of his last five appearances for Inter in the Champions League.
If he scores tonight, he’ll be just the second South American player to score in six consecutive games in the competition.

It’s a curious selection, leaving the likes of Pau Cubarsi, Frenkie de Jong, Alessandro Bastoni, and Nicolo Barella on the sideline while Inigo Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu start.
What changes would you make?

— WhoScored (@WhoScored) April 30, 20251 hour to kickoff: Inter are a formidable opponent, of that there’s no doubt, but Barcelona are considered significant favorites in this one, and for good reason. The La Liga leaders have arguably been the best team in Europe this season.
Chances of making the Champions League final according to Opta probability:
◉ 59.1% – Barcelona
◉ 40.9% – Inter

— Squawka Live (@Squawka_Live) April 30, 20251 hour 15 mins to kick: Lineups are in! Barcelona’s XI is exactly as expected, with Dani Olmo at the No. 10 and Ferran Torres in for Robert Lewandowski.
For Inter, there were two big questions for this game surrounding the fitness of Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries. Both are in the starting lineup, which is a huge boost for the visitors who will be playing on the counter.
1 hour 30 mins to kick: Lamine Yamal has been compared to a young Lionel Messi recently. It’s easy to understand why, as the 17-year-old Barcelona wonderkid dazzles on the dribble and with his pace. Inter forward Lautaro Martinez, a teammate of Messi’s on the Argentine national team, wasn’t having it, paying his respects to the Spanish teenager’s talent but saying nobody in the world should draw comparisons to the greatest ever.
The youngster also wasn’t ready to put himself in that pantheon, saying, “comparisons don’t make sense and even more so with Messi.” Lamine Yamal just wants to be Lamine Yamal, and for right now, that’s all fans should ask for too, because the kid has proven time and time again that’s plenty of entertainment.
“I admire him as the best player in the history of sport.”

— Sky Sports Football (@SkyFootball) April 30, 20251 hour 45 mins to kick: The last time these two clubs met in the Champions League semifinals was in 2010 when Jose Mourinho shocked Pep Guardiola’s side to reach the final. Mourinho would go on to win the title that year, but Barcelona would be fine, coming back to win the title the following season.
Can the Italian club spring an upset of the European giants again?

— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) April 30, 20252 hours to kickoff: The difference between the styles of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres up front are stark, and it may change how Barcelona attack this game. Lewandowski has morphed into a pure penalty-area finisher in his advanced age, dragging center-backs around with his movement but hardly touching the ball outside the 18-yard box.
Ferran Torres, meanwhile, can run much more and likes to make movements in behind the defenders, helping with buildup and flowing much more freely. That’s nice in theory, but it’s also a change, and it could clog things for Lamine Yamal and Raphinha who love to run at their defenders as well. That could play right into Inter’s hands.
Inzaghi: “Barcelona have all the excellent players in managing the ball, they are masters at it… Pedri, De Jong, Fermín, Olmo, Gavi. In attack they have several options. Lewandowski is not there? Well, Ferran Torres plays.” pic.twitter.com/D9AI2WN9wz

Alejandro Balde is battling to return soon from his own hamstring problem, but Gerard Martin remains slotted in at left-back as cover for now. Marc Casado remains out with a knee problem and Marc Bernal is a long-term absentee.
