
Victor Osimhen hits brace as Galatasaray smash Sivasspor
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray thrashed Sivasspor 4-1 at Rams Park on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen led the line for reigning Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray when they welcomed Sivasspor to their home in Istanbul. Before the game, there were fears that the Super Eagles striker may not start due to fears that he could get suspended if he got a yellow card. Nonetheless, coach Orkan Buruk stuck with him.
The Lions were massive favourites to win, and they grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck from the blast of the whistle.

It took them just nine minutes to get the opener, as Lucas Torreira pounced on a rebound after Osimhenās shot was saved. The former Arsenal man simply poked the ball into the net to make it 1-0.

Then, in the 15th minute, Osimhen struck. This time, it was him getting on a rebound after a shot cannoned off the bar and got to him. Osimhen quickly reacted and just struck the ball into the net to make it two to the reigning kings of Turkey.

Baris Alper Yilmaz scored Galatasarayās third in the 21st minute. Then, Osimhen added one more in the 31st minute, and it was just another perfect show of his quality. Osimhen calmly controlled a cross that was whipped into the box by Roland Sallai and finished with aplomb from close range to make it four for Galatasaray.

Rey Manaj score for Sivasspor just before the break to give them a glimmer of hope going into the second half. However, that ended up as a consolation goal.
Osimhen thought he had gotten his hattrick after he put the ball in the net within two minutes of the restart. Unfortunately, the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

The Super Eagles star was eventually taken off in the 70th minute, as Galatasaray took their feet off the gas due to their three-goal lead. After 90 minutes, it ended 4-1 in Galatasarayās favour.
