Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Many Of You Are Buying A Switch 2?

Is it in the plans?

Amazingly, we’re less than one month away from the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s not a big deal for us here at Pure Xbox for obvious reasons, but it’s still a big deal for the industry at large – a pretty major deal, in fact!

And you know what? It is still going to affect us in multiple ways. We recently put together a list of five ways the Switch 2 reveal has actually been a huge win for Xbox, including the ability to raise console and game prices (which Microsoft recently did, much to everyone’s annoyance) and the benefit that it’s likely going to support most of Xbox’s first-party lineup in some fashion.

We’re also just fans of gaming in general. Personally, I’ve been playing so much of my Nintendo Switch OLED recently, but not to the point where I’m getting a Nintendo Switch 2 at launch. Instead, I’d rather wait for the games library to bulk out, as well as for ASUS to reveal the Xbox handheld and allow me to make a proper comparison.

The thing is, I’d much rather play third-party games on either an Xbox console or an Xbox handheld, especially with the latter supporting so many Xbox Play Anywhere titles. That just leaves the first-party stuff, which admittedly will be very tempting down the line, but Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza aren’t really enough to tempt me for now.

Then again, what if this Xbox handheld is a bust? It could be the greatest handheld PC we’ve ever seen, the most overpriced and unsatisfying ASUS ROG Ally yet, or perhaps something in the middle. There are too many unanswered questions about it right now, and not enough money for most people to commit to both on day one!

Let’s get to the poll, shall we? We actually did one of these back in early April, but now that the dust has settled and the controversy has died down, it’s about time we started afresh.

What did you pick? Are you buying a Switch 2? Let us know down in the comments section below.
