The postseason has been a bit of a whirlwind so far.
In the West, OKC, the title favorite, fell into a 2-1 hole in the West semis against the Nuggets before evening the series in Game 4 and earning a comeback win in Game 5 to take a 3-2 lead.
Game 6 is Thursday in Denver.
The Lakers entered the postseason favored over the Wolves in their first-round series, but Anthony Edwards & Co. had different ideas, knocking off L.A. in five games.
The Timberwolves then lost Game 1 of their West semis series at home to Golden State, even after Steph Curry left early with a hamstring injury and did not return.
After that, however, Minnesota won four straight, eliminating G.S. in five games. The Wolves are now 8-2 in the postseason.
In the East, things are even wackier.
After taking a 2-0 lead over the Cavaliers by winning twice on Cleveland’s home floor, the Pacers dropped Game 3 at home to the Cavs before demolishing the top-seed in Game 4 to take a decisive 3-1 lead in their series.
Then, in Game 5, the Pacers came back from a 19-point deficit to eliminate the Cavs in five games and advance to their second straight Eastern Conference finals.
Lastly, the Knicks won Games 1 and 2 of their series with the defending champion Celtics, with both wins coming on Boston’s home floor. In each game, Boston led by at least 20 before New York stormed back.Â
In Game 3 in Madison Square Garden, Boston took a huge lead and did not relinquish it, moving the series to 2-1.Â
In Game 4, after Boston led by as many as 14 in the third quarter, the Knicks stormed back to take a 3-point lead entering the fourth quarter.
Then, disaster struck.
Celtics star Jayson Tatum went down late in the final frame, grabbing his right ankle. He was then carried off the court and was seen being pushed in a wheelchair later on in the broadcast.Â
It was revealed on Tuesday that Tatum had suffered a torn Achilles.
The Knicks lead the series 3-2, after Boston won Game 6 on Wednesday without Tatum.
