Maple Leafs vs. Panthers Game 7 live score, updates, highlights from 2025 NHL playoffs second-round series

In a series full of runs, Panthers vs. Maple Leafs all came down to Sunday night.

After the defending Stanley Cup champions answered Toronto’s 2-0 start by ripping off three straight victories, the Maple Leafs forced Game 7 in the second-round matchup. But ultimately, an attempt to rekindle their postseason run was for naught.

Florida dominated the final 40 minutes of Sunday’s Game 7, claiming a 6-1 victory that now sends the Panthers to an Eastern Conference Final matchup against the Hurricanes. Veteran center Brad Marchand, a trade deadline acquisition for Florida, stepped up to the stage in the victory, posting a goal and two assists.

The Maple Leafs, playing in front of their home crowd, showed life in the first frame by keeping things scoreless. But the Panthers’ barrage of shots eventually proved too much too handle. By the end of the second period, it was 3-0 Florida, a lead that only ballooned in the third period. Alongside Marchand, the collection of Jonah Gadjovich, Anton Lundell, Eetu Luostarinen, Sam Reinhart and Seth Jones all found the back of the net.

The Panthers’ quest for consecutive titles will continue with the clutch victory. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs’ recent history full of playoff collapses continued, as they lost yet another Game 7; Toronto has yet to win a series-deciding matchup since 2004.

The Sporting News tracked updates and highlights from Game 7 between the Panthers and Maple Leafs. Here’s what you may have missed from the matchup.

“This is brutal. This is men vs boys right now. Completely unprepared. I think they’ve lost every single 50-50 puck battle. Don’t know how else to describe it but pathetic performance…” https://t.co/m8PTsaR1YP pic.twitter.com/0tIAFj4DMS
