Liverpool star holds talks with Italian giants
Premier League champions Liverpool host FA Cup winners Crystal Palace in their final game of the season on Sunday.
The two sides will meet at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, before being pitted against each other once again in next season’s curtain-raising Community Shield at Wembley later this summer.
Arne Slot’s side have suffered defeats against Chelsea and Brighton – as well as drawing with Arsenal – since being crowned champions by beating Tottenham Hotspot last month.
The Dutchman will be keen to see his side finish such an impressive campaign with a victory, but the game will also see the Reds given the opportunity to bid farewell to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
England international Alexander-Arnold is to leave the club when his contract expires this summer, although sections of the club’s supporters have vented their frustration at the player in the weeks since his announcement.
Now, though, it appears that another of Liverpool’s stars could depart Anfield this summer.
According to CaughtOffside, the representatives of forward Darwin Nunez have held talks with Italian side Napoli about a possible transfer this summer.

Nunez, 25, joined the Reds from Portuguese side Benfica in 2023 but has since endured a mixed run of form on Merseyside.
The Uruguay international has scored 40 goals in 142 games for Liverpool across all competitions – as well as providing 26 assists – but he has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Anfield.
Nunez has started just eight of Liverpool’s 37 Premier League games so far this term, and the report claims that he could therefore be allowed to leave the club when the transfer window opens.
The report claims that Liverpool are open to the idea of allowing the forward to depart, however Napoli have so far been focussing on a potential loan move.
European sides Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and RB Leipzig are all said to be interested in the Uruguayan, while Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are also credited with an interest.
