Stellar Blade Split-Screen Mode Goes Viral, But Isn’t Strictly Real

Double trouble

Image: Push SquareIt’s been reported that at one point in Stellar Blade’s lifecycle, Shift Up was planning to double down on the fun. A so-called secret unused co-op mode was alleged to have been uncovered by modders, but is actually just a function of Unreal Engine 5.

The footage found by a Brazilian fan account shows the screen dramatically splitting in two as a second Eve spawns on Eidos 7, but its original creator has confirmed it’s not necessarily something the studio was working on.

However, a couple of file names within the release’s code do make reference to some form of online “multiplay”. Some have hypothesised that this may be a feature under construction for future updates, but our guess is that it’s probably an idea that was abandoned earlier in development. We suppose it could return for the upcoming sequel, though.
