It was an up and down rookie season for the talented quarterback taken with the first overall pick.

With Ben Johnson in charge, the Bears are hoping their new head coach can unlock Williams’ full potential and place him in the upper echelon of quarterbacks around the league.

Charles ‘Peanut’ Tillman, known for his legendary ‘peanut punch’, spoke to talkSPORT.com in an exclusive interview and revealed his expectations for the Bears QB.

“That’s where you see the most growth from your first to second year,” Tillman said.

“There should be a significant drop in interceptions and there should be a significant drop in his sacks.

“I’ve met Caleb a few times, he is a competitor.

“Nobody likes to suck, no one likes to be bad at something.

“He strikes me as a guy that if he’s not good at something or if he failed at something, he’s going to go right back to the drawing board and figure out how to get better at what he wasn’t good at.

“I think that’s just kind of who he is, that’s in his DNA.”

That’s far in the past, and expectations are high in 2025 for the nearly $40 million gun-slinger.

The city of Chicago is desperate for a winner.

One franchise great in particular believes Williams is going to elevate his game to an extremely high level in his second season.

The Bears are hoping so, too.

I just dropped tears’ – Caleb Williams makes heartbreaking admission after brutal rookie season with Bears

The Windy City franchise hasn’t made the playoffs since 2020, and hasn’t won a playoff game since 2010.

It’s been nearly 15 years of ineptitude for the Bears, and the city’s hopes are now on Williams’ shoulders.

Last season, the rookie threw for 20 touchdowns against six interceptions, and 3,541 yards.

He completed 62.5 percent of his passes and took a league-high 68 sacks.

If Tillman’s predictions are to come true, Williams will throw for 40 touchdowns and three interceptions.

And if that happens, Chicago can all but guarantee a playoff berth, and maybe even an NFC North crown.
