Newest Iowa high school softball rankings
The second release of the Iowa high school softball rankings have been made official from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
And there is plenty of change from the preseason poll.
Two new No. 1 teams take over in Class 5A and 4A, as Pleasant Valley moves from third to first in 5A while Cedar Rapids Xavier flipped positions with North Polk in 4A.
Several schools made big-time jumps including West Lyon, as they went from unranked in 2A all the way to No. 5. Missouri Valley was outside the Top 15 a week ago and is now seventh in 3A while Johnston (5A) and Ankeny Christian (1A) both moved into the Top 5.
