Helldivers 2 Developer Shuts Down Xbox Game Pass Rumour

It’s “definitely not” happening at launch

With Helldivers 2 getting a surprise announcement for Xbox the other day, there’s inevitibly been some speculation about whether it might be coming to Xbox Game Pass as well – but this is “definitely not” happening at launch.

The game’s community manager shut this down on Discord, responding to someone who heard a rumour that it would be coming to Game Pass. However, it’s been confirmed there are “no plans” for Helldivers 2 on Game Pass right now.

“OP: I’m pretty sure it was confirmed to be coming to gamepass.

Arrowhead Studios CM: Definitely not. No plans to bring it to gamepass.”

There really shouldn’t be too much surprise around this, as Helldivers 2 is being published by PlayStation Publishing LLC on Xbox – meaning Sony is directly responsible for bringing this popular shooter to Xbox for the first time.

Yes, we’ve seen MLB The Show on Xbox Game Pass before, but Sony didn’t actually publish it – it was handled by the “MLB” group instead. In the case of Helldivers 2, we highly doubt Sony would want to support the Game Pass service!

There’s your answer, anyway. It’s definitely not happening at launch, and it’s very likely not happening at all.
