Richarlison penned a five-year deal with the club for an initial £50million.

His arrival saw him join a squad featuring former rival Romero after two fiery meetings during the previous campaign.

However, the duo immediately banished those to the past on Richarlison’s first day at the club’s training ground.

As members of the squad welcomed their new team-mate, Romero and Giovani Lo Celso were both seen greeting the forward.

After hugging Lo Celso, Richarlison embraced Romero as the pair shook hands.

Their interaction was met with applause and laughter from their team-mates.

It came after the new signing had referenced their past battles following the announcement of his arrival.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a clip of himself barging into Romero along with the caption: “Now friends.”

The defender had taken an exception to a penalty appeal from the then Toffees star.

Romero then left his mark with a strong challenge during the reverse fixture later in the campaign.

They had also faced each other for their national teams in the final of the Copa America in 2021.

On that occasion, Romero’s Argentina narrowly defeated Brazil and Richarlison, securing a 1-0 victory in Rio de Janeiro.

Since joining Spurs, Richarlison has gone on to score 20 goals and provide 10 assists in 90 appearances for the club.
