NBA insider expects Warriors to sign perfect 6’3” defensive guard in free agency
The Golden State Warriors still haven’t done anything in free agency. That doesn’t mean they aren’t working behind the scenes. The strongest Warriors free agency rumors indicate that the team is still going to land some big free agents this offseason.
NBA insider Marc Stein recently joined the Willard & Dibs show and gave some insight on the Warriors’ free agency targets.
“My expectation is that one way or the other, the Warriors are going to end up with both Horford and Melton on their roster. [And] they still have interest in Bradley Beal.”
This is great news for Warriors fans. Stein usually has a pretty good pulse on the league, and he seems pretty confident the Warriors will be able to land both Horford and Melton this offseason.
While the Warriors-Al Horford rumors may have been louder, landing Melton is enormous as well.
Melton helped the Warriors get off to a super hot start last season and looked like the perfect reserve guard for the Warriors’ system before going down with injury. Melton supposedly clicked with the team off the court as well. Bringing him back would bring shooting, defense, and good vibes back to the locker room.
Melton only played in six games for the Warriors last season, but he averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists and shot 37.1% from three.

If a Warriors-Melton reunion were to happen, it could be perfect. If Melton is healthy and can pick up where he left off in a Warriors uniform, it would be a match made in heaven.
