talkSPORT betting tips – Best football bets and expert advice for Championship outright
The gap between the Championship and the Premier League has been growing for a few years but the last two campaigns have seen the three promoted teams go straight back down.
Nevertheless the market for promotion from the second tier is dominated by two of the three relegated teams, with one notable exception.

Championship 2025/26 tipsIpswich to be promoted @ EvsNorwich to be promoted @ 6/1Tractor Boys favourites to go upIpswich could not manage to stay up in their first season back in the Premier League since 2002, finishing 19th.
After a decent start the Tractor Boys were just too leaky at the back, conceding 82 goals. However they have managed to retain their highly regarded manager Kieran McKenna despite losing star striker Liam Delap.
As a result Ipswich have been installed as 7/2 favourites to win the Championship and also even-money chances to be promoted.
The likes of Leif Davis, Sammie Szmodics and Jack Clarke have been very successful at this level before so it is not hard to see why they are fancied.
If the Tractor Boys can hold on to McKenna, they look a very solid bet to return to the Premier League.
Leicester a long shotOf the three relegated teams, Leicester came closest to staying up, finishing 18th. Nevertheless they are the biggest price of any of those three to be promoted again, thanks mainly to issues off the field.
The Foxes look likely to suffer a points deduction and it is expected that they will not have anywhere near the budget to spend as some of their promotion rivals.
Former QPR boss Marti Cifuentes is a solid addition to the dugout but may not be enough to see them overcome any potential points deduction. Leicester are 12/1 to win the title and 4/1 to be promoted.
Southampton are the other relegated side and have brought in Will Still as manager, the coach had success in France with Lens and Reims.
The Saints are 11/2 to win the title and 6/4 to be promoted but have lost Kyle Walker-Peters and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Blues aiming for back-to-back promotionsBirmingham have splashed the cash since returning to the Championship, signing Kyogo Furuhashi, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Tommy Doyle.
The newly-promoted side are just 7/1 to win back-to-back titles and 9/4 to be promoted back to the Premier League.
Canaries making smart movesNorwich had a disappointing campaign last season but have made some very eye-catching moves over the summer, bringing in manager Liam Manning and a potentially top-level striker in Mathias Kvistgaarden.
The Norwegian netted 23 goals for Brondby last season and could be one of the signings of the summer.
The Canaries have also tightened things up at the back with the signings of Harry Darling and Jakov Medic. The 6/1 about them to go up is of interest.
