Wofsburg close in on Josh Sargent
According to Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett, Wolfsburg are close to reaching an agreement with Norwich City over the proposed £21million signing of Josh Sargent.
The 25-year-old striker has plenty of experience in German football, having spent over two years with Werder Bremen before he joined Norwich in 2021. He has apparently already informed the Canaries that he wants to return there and join Wolfsburg, and the talks between the two clubs are at an advanced stage.
Sargent has made a total of 60 goal contributions (48 goals, 12 assists) in 133 appearances across all competitions for Norwich. He also has 28 caps as a USA international under his belt, with five goals for his country. Though his contract at Carrow Road has three years left to run, he is obviously keen to spend the upcoming season in one of Europe’s top five leagues in order to boost his chances of being selected for the World Cup squad next year.
