Man Utd ‘most advanced’ for Gyokeres as INEOS offer ‘slightly higher’ fee than Arsenal
Manchester United are now incredibly âmost advancedâ in the race to sign Viktor Gyokeres as INEOS have offered a âslightly higherâ fee than Arsenal for the Sporting striker.
Arsenal finally reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon over a fee for the Sporting star last week, as confirmed by The Athleticâs David Ornstein.
Ornstein later revealed the âagreedâ fee between Arsenal and Sporting.
He wrote on X: âSporting confirm a deal in principle is in place, with an agreement of a âŹ63.5million fixed upfront fee plus âŹ10m in add-ons, while the strikerâs agent has waived his fee to help facilitate the deal.â
But the Gunners havenât been given the green light to sign the striker as they have butted heads with Sporting over the structure of the deal, as explained by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
âOn Viktor Gyokeres, I can tell you that the conversations are continuing in London. The agent is working on the deal,â Romano said.
âArsenal remain confident but still have to negotiate add-ons. They want âŹ3m in bonuses plus âŹ7m more complicated. Sporting want âŹ10m very easily. Any moment could be good for this deal.â
But Portuguese outlet A Bola claimed the deal âis at serious risk of fallingâ with Arsenal âseriously considering the possibility of never reaching the value intended by the greens and whitesâ.
Itâs claimed that âthe risk of the collapse is highâ and Gyokeresâ father has been brought âto tearsâ with his son âincreasingly distancing himself from Londonâ.

And then followed a bombshell claim from SIC, who reported on Sunday that Manchester United â who have a held a long-term interest in Gyokeres â are now âvery closeâ to reaching an âagreementâ with Sporting over his transfer.
They claimed that INEOS were willing to match Arsenalâs offer, but now A Bola claim Unitedâs âpresented proposalâ is âslightly higherâ than Arsenalâs, though still between âŹ70m and âŹ80m.
Swedish outlet Maisfutebol then tripled down on the story, claiming United âresumed talksâ with Sporting after hearing about the impasse with Arsenal having all-but completed their deal for Bryan Mbeumo.
Sporting and United are âclose to an understandingâ, which reportedly makes âthe Red Devils the most advanced club in the race for the Swedish scorerâ.
Itâs not yet clear what Gyokeres thinks of this âlast-minute bomb in the marketâ and âsupersonic attackâ from United, though heâs previously insisted on the move to Arsenal in order to play Champions League football and fight for major honours.
