Xbox Quietly Adds New Release To August 2025 Game Pass Lineup

It’s suddenly in the “Coming Soon” section

We’re still waiting on Microsoft to formally reveal the first batch of Xbox Game Pass titles for August 2025 (it’ll probably be early next week now), but an upcoming release has quietly sneaked into the “Coming Soon” list anyway.

This release is a game called “Herdling”, and it’s coming out on August 21st. In Herdling, you’ll “guide a herd of mysterious creatures on a stirring and beautiful journey into the mountains and beyond”.

Interestingly, this is the next project from the team behind the well-received Far: Lone Sails and Far: Changing Tides games, and it’s being published by Panic – known for Firewatch, Untitled Goose Game and various other things.

As mentioned, it could be a few days yet until Microsoft starts talking about the August 2025 Xbox Game Pass lineup properly, but we’ll link our guide to the month down below – along with more details and screenshots for Herdling.
