Wreckreation Does Its Very Best Burnout Impression in PS5, PS4 Trailer

Wreck fest

Perhaps it’s harsh to say Wreckreation is doing a Burnout impression, as this is being built by Three Fields Entertainment, the team comprised of Criterion veterans. But it’s still trying to make a Burnout game nonetheless.

This one is obviously using Burnout Paradise as a reference point, which is this author’s personal favourite in the franchise, just a front fender ahead of Burnout 3 Takedown.

But while it all looks chaotic and fun, there’s really not much to this trailer at all. The cars go fast, the boost bar looks familiar, and the world has a vibrant Americana kinda look to it that we like. All very Paradise City, as you’d expect!

The big thing with this game has always been that you can pop out of your car and build within the world, constructing ramps, roads, and obstructions – whatever you like really.

Here’s the official blurb from the press release:

“Wreckreation is the home of your very own MixWorld, a 400 square kilometers big racing realm that is yours to create, shape – and wreck. Developed by Three Fields Entertainment, a team consisting of Burnout and Need for Speed series creators, Wreckreation was designed to be the ultimate open-world sandbox experience for driving and racing fans alike. A complete world of your own design or designed together with your friends online. In Wreckreation you can continually strive to outrace, out-stunt or even out-crash yourself and the rest of the world on courses and tracks designed by you or your friends. But yours will probably be better anyway.”

So, it all looks like it’s coming along, but we’re waiting for a release date at this stage. We’re not sure we’ve got much to add until it gets one!
