Joe Rogan makes return for UFC 319 and is joined by Dustin Poirier for first event since retirement

The UFC 319 broadcast team has been confirmed and the popular trio is back in the commentary booth together for the middleweight title fight.

In just over a week’s time, the premier promotion returns to Chicago for UFC 319, headlined by a middleweight title fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev.

This will mark Chimaev’s first fight on American soil since 2022 with his last few fights having taken place in Abu Dhabi, having scored the most impressive win of his career thus far against Robert Whittaker last time out.

Du Plessis and ‘Borz’ have been calling to fight each other for almost a year now, however, ‘Stillknocks’ had to settle his feud with Sean Strickland last time out, successfully defending his title at UFC 312.

And for the blockbuster event in the Windy City, the big guns have been given their duties in the commentary booth for what guarantees to be an incredible fight.

Despite it being a huge PPV on American soil, it was announced before the event that UFC icon and color commentator Joe Rogan wasn’t going to be working the event, which came as a huge shock to the fanbase.

It marked the first time in over three years that Rogan has missed an American PPV, with it being known that he doesn’t travel internationally for UFC events.

However, just over a week out from the UFC’s return to Chicago, it has been announced that Rogan will make his return to the commentary booth as he, Jon Anik, and Daniel Cormier reunite for the night of action.

That isn’t the only notable inclusion to the event, though, as ‘The Diamond’ Poirier will also be working the event as a desk analyst. This will mark Poirier’s first post-retirement assignment and he has recently stated that he will be focusing on being an analyst following retirement.
