Kourtney Kardashian Isn’t Pushing Back on Critics Calling Her Latest Parenting Decision ‘Dangerous’

Kourtney Kardashian is not pushing back against her latest critics like she has in the past.

On August 8, Kardashian posted a series of photos on Instagram from a lakeside vacation, seemingly in Idaho. However, the first photo—which depicted Kardashian cuddling up on a boat with her youngest son, Rocky Thirteen—did not garner the response she probably expected.

Many fans in the comments and on Reddit were aghast that her 21-month-old son was not wearing a life vest. “As cute as that first pic is, is drives me nuts. Kids on boats should always be wearing appropriate life vests and it looks like it’s sitting in the seat right next to them,” one Reddit user commented, while another described the lack of safety precautions as “dangerous neglect.”

On August 9, Kardashian responded to the backlash by thanking commenters for pointing out the safety hazard. “Update: bought a life vest that fits!” she wrote in an Instagram story, per People. “Good looking out. Honestly didn’t think about some of the dangers. Thank you for making me aware and hopefully this helps make other mommies aware of the dangers of certain types of boating without a life vest.”

Kourtney Kardashian shares her youngest son with husband Travis Barker, as well as three older children with her ex, Scott Disick. As a very famous mother-of-four, Kardashian is no stranger to backlash over her parenting choices, whether their coming from concerned fans or full-on mommy-shamers. In the past, Kardashian has had no problem hitting back at those who said her son Reign’s hair was too long or that she shouldn’t kiss her children on the lips.

“No matter what it is that I am doing, someone has something to say, good or bad,” she told Rosie Huntington-Whiteley during an interview in 2020. “The worst, though, is when people I don’t know give unsolicited parenting advice. No one knows my kids better than me, I’ve got this, I’m good, thanks.”

But when it comes to her children’s safety, she’s more receptive to advice.
