Rumors, even if theyâre something technically good, are a double-edged sword. Just ask Pete Davidson. Around the time he was engaged to Ariana Grande in 2018, Davidsonâs love life became âtabloidly, trendy thing,â he shared on The Breakfast Club on August 14. He explained further how the gossip hurt how seriously people took his career, âAnd, also I was embarrassed by it becauseânow itâs starting to change a little bitâbut no one talked about any work I was doing. They were just like, âOh, thatâs the fuck stick.â And that hurt so much.â It eventually evolved into people gossiping about his penis size. Despite no one being âoutrightly meanâ about him, Davidson still felt âvery embarrassedâ by how people were talking about his body.
Host Charlamagne Tha God wanted clarification on what exactly he was âembarrassedâ about, asking him, âYou was banging a lot of hot chicks and people knew you had a 10-inch penis?â Davidson explained that it was a doubel standard. âYou know, on paper, that sounds great,â he shared. âBut itâs embarrassing. Because first of all, itâs Hollywood. Everybody fucks everyone. Everybodyâs dating everybody. Why are they focusing on me? ⊠Also, that stuff affects relationships. Seeing that and trying to move around and go on dates and just be a young dude whoâs trying to figure out who he isâI donât want to victimize myself in any way because Iâm cool. But the sexualization of meâif that was a girl, people would be like, there would be a march for it. Seriously. Youâre just talking about my dick all day⊠They donât talk about girls like that professionally.â
