KTM ANNOUNCES 2026 690 ENDURO R AND SMC R DUAL SPORTS

AUSTRIA’S BIG SINGLES RECEIVE UPDATED ELECTRONICS, SUSPENSION AND BODYWORK

On a model year light on upgrades, we’re glad to see the 2026 KTM 690 Enduro R dual-sport get a refresh.

KTM revealed another new 2026 model this week—two, actually—the KTM 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R. The big-bore single-cylinder gets a freshening up for the new year, mainly in the electronics department. The 2026 KTM 690 Enduro R receives a new 4.2-inch TFT dash, presumably shared with the 390 Enduro R, which was introduced earlier this year. A USB-C charging port, LED headlight and redesigned switchgear are also new, and the 690 duo also receives updated electronics including Cornering ABS, Cornering MTC among the full suite of rider aids. Fresh bodywork and “updated suspension components” (no specifics given at this point) round out the changes to the 2026 KTM 690 Enduro R and SMC R. KTM says we can expect to see them as early as September.

KTM is proud to introduce the next evolution of its LC4-powered legends – the 2026 KTM 690 ENDURO R and 2026 KTM 690 SMC R. Built for riders who live for the thrill, whether it’s carving through mountain roads or conquering remote trails, these two motorcycles offer bold styling, improved tech, and the best-in-class power of the world’s most ferocious single-cylinder platform.

All Terrain. All The Time.

The 2026 KTM 690 ENDURO R continues its dual-sport legacy with comprehensive updates that boost off-road capability and on-road refinement. At its heart is the latest LC4 single-cylinder engine, now featuring a revised crankcase, clutch, and stator cover, along with a redesigned oil system for enhanced durability and improved performance.

For 2026, the ENDURO R gains a new 4.2” full-color TFT display, redesigned switchgear, a USB-C charging port, and an LED headlight. On the electronics side, Cornering ABS, Cornering MTC, and the all-new Dynamic Slip Adjust (available in the optional RALLY Ride Mode) provide riders with real-time, terrain-adaptive traction control. Ergonomically sharper bodywork and updated suspension components add comfort and feedback on both trail and tarmac.
