The panties you pull on in the morning might be the last thing you think about—and yet, the best underwear for women can be one of the biggest tone-setters of your day. The wrong pair can ride up, dig in, or show through, but the right one can make you feel more comfortable and confident. I should know! As Glamour’s shopping editor, I write about bras and undies—which means I’ve also tested a ton of styles: seamless thongs that disappear under leggings and clingy dresses; high-waist briefs with tummy control; moisture-wicking cotton underwear; even absorbent period underwear. Trust me—not all are created equal.

Below, you’ll find the absolute best of the best women’s underwear—all of which have been worn and raved about by Glamour editors (including me). There’s something for everyone’s tastes, from the thongs-only girlie to the person who prefers the full-coverage functionality of a boxer brief. Let’s get into it.

Amazon Essentials Cotton Bikini Underwear (6-pack)

If you want one pair of everyday undies that checks all the boxes—comfort, durability, and price—Amazon Essentials’ cotton bikini underwear are it. At less than $3 a pair, they’re lightweight, tag-free, and come in multipacks with more than 25 colors and prints. “I wouldn’t call them completely wedgie-proof—does such a thing exist?—but they come close,” says Glamour commerce director Brie Schwartz, who recommends sizing up for the best fit. The low-rise bikini cut sits flat at the hip bone, and the breathable cotton is blended with a touch of spandex for softness and stretch that keeps its shape wash after wash.

Jockey Organic Cotton Stretch Logo Hipster (3-pack)

I test a lot of underwear (hey, lucky me), and these Jockey organic cotton hipsters have quickly become a favorite. They’re relatively affordable (just $15 for a three-pack), ultra-lightweight, and are among some of the most moisture-wicking undies in my drawer because of their cotton material. They strike the perfect balance: breathable, soft, and stretchy thanks to a touch of spandex. The mid-rise cut offers enough coverage without veering into granny panties, and they stay put under jeans and fitted clothes. The elastic keeps them from digging in or riding up, though they’re not totally seamless under leggings.

Skims Fits Everybody High-Waist Thong

When we asked editors and readers to share the most comfortable thongs they own, Skims’ Fits Everybody was the clear favorite. The brand’s signature ultra-soft, stretchy fabric molds to your body, while smooth seams don’t pinch or dig—so you can actually forget you’re wearing it. The high-waist design adds light tummy control and keeps the waistband from rolling, unlike most low-rise thongs. Not into a high-rise fit? The collection also has a classic mid-rise thong, a high-cut, dipped-front style, and a cheeky micro thong.
