Is Fifth Harmony Reuniting After Their Jonas Brothers Concert Performance? The Rumors, Explained
Say thank you to the Jonas Brothers, Harmonizers. On August 31, the band brought Fifth Harmony to perform together for the first time in seven years. Well, four out of five of them, at least.
Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui reunited during the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown tour concert in Dallas, performing two of their group’s biggest hits, “Work From Home” and “Worth It.” However, the girl group—which originally formed on The X Factor in 2012 and went on hiatus in 2018—was missing one member: Camila Cabello.
Now, many Fifth Harmony fans are convinced this was not a one-off surprise performance, but a hint that the group may be planning a Jonas Brothers-esque resurgence. After all, the siblings disbanded in 2013 due to creative differences before reuniting with their hit single “Sucker” in 2019.
So, why do fans think Fifth Harmony may be returning with or without Camila Cabello? Here’s what we know—and what the streets are saying about it.
Camila Cabello exited the band in 2016.Prior to the band’s official split, Cabello exited the girl group in 2016. “I started distancing myself from the group vision, and it felt like, you know, they were still really passionate and into that and so, I was just like, ‘I’m not happy here anymore, it doesn’t feel aligned,’” Cabello told Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper in 2024. “I can remember waking up on tour and going to my hotel room at, like, 7 a.m. and going to my garage band and, like, writing songs, cause I didn’t want to do it while everybody was there and I had such a passion that turned into writing.”
The group continued performing without Cabello until 2018, when they announced they were taking a break to “pursue solo endeavors.”
“After six years going hard, non stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors,” the band shared in a statement on X.com. “We are all very excited and grateful to be able to take this time to learn and grow creatively and really find our footing as individuals. In doing this we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family.”
There were already reunion rumors in 2023Back in 2023, Ally Brooke revealed that all the members of Fifth Harmony aside from Cabello had retained ownership of the group’s. trademark during an appearance on The Zach Sang Show, sparking reunion rumors. However, Brooke later posted that there was “no official band reunion” planned. Still, she said “some beautiful friendships and relationships are slowly reuniting in a healing and empowering way.”
This statement seemed to align with Cabello’s assertion she was in a ““in a really good place” with her former bandmates in 2022. “We have been, like, supportive of each other through like DMs and stuff,” she told Reuters at the time.
Fifth Harmony returns on social media on August 31Prior to the quartet’s surprise performance at the Jonas Brothers concert, the shared their first X.com post since 2018, writing, “#FifthHarmonyFollowSpree
Following their performance, the official Instagram account posted a clip to Instagram with the caption, “Where were you on August 31, 2025?” They added, “Thank you @jonasbrothers for having us. Felt amazing to be back.”
“That was special! 💞💞💞💞💞,” Brooke commented on the Instagram post, while Dinah Jane shared selfies with the quartet on Instagram with the caption, “Miss us?”
Now, many fans believe the performance was just a jumping-off point. Since reuniting on stage, the band has released new merch and reposted the band’s new fandom community page on Weverse.
So, what about Camila Cabello?Even before Fifth Harmony took the stage on August 31, fans noticed Fifth Harmony’s Instagram account was following Camila Cabello, and questioned if that meant a reunion was imminent. “Fifth Harmony started following u what is happening?” one fan commented on Cabello’s most recent Instagram post.
As of publishing time on September 1, Cabello doesn’t follow the group back on Instagram. Meanwhile, only Jauregui, Brooke, Jane, and Normani are tagged in the group’s X.com bio, which reads, “Where were you on August 31, 2025?”
Camila Cabello does not follow Fifth Harmony on Instagram as of September 1, 2025.
Cabello is currently in Australia for a series of performances that could have kept her from joining her former bandmates at the Jonas Brothers concert. Many fans are still holding out hope she may be a part of Fifth Harmony’s alleged return.
So far, Cabello has not commented on the performance or reunion rumors.
