Wolverine PS5 to Finally Be Revealed in Next State of Play, It’s Claimed
Next trailer apparently ready to go
The long-awaited PS5 exclusive Marvel’s Wolverine shall be part of the next general State of Play livestream, according to Insider Gaming. Sources speaking to the outlet claim that the next trailer for the game is ready to go, and it’ll “almost certainly” be part of a State of Play taking place towards the end of this month.
Suggestions of a State of Play livestream taking place in September have been doing the rounds for a while now, and they line up with how Sony has planned its digital shows in the past â there has been a State of Play or a PlayStation Showcase every September since 2019.
Obviously, the State of Play focusing on 007 First Light has only just aired, but it’s widely accepted that there will still be another general showcase in the coming weeks.
If a State of Play does take place and Marvel’s Wolverine is indeed part of the show, it’ll be the first time the PS5 title has been shown publicly since its original reveal back in 2021. Some early glimpses of gameplay have gotten out online via the Insomniac hack of December 2023, which hasn’t changed the direction the developer is taking the game.
In the event it’s not part of a State of Play, then it’s suggested the new Wolverine trailer should still be released in the coming months, with The Game Awards in December being another potential place for it to debut.
As for what else could be part of the rumoured State of Play, the outlet suggests another update on Marathon and the unveiling of a heavily speculated 2.5D God of War game. Marvel’s Wolverine would presumably be the closer, however, as a hotly anticipated title that fans have been waiting more than four years to play.
Are you ready to finally see Marvel’s Wolverine again? Hope for its inclusion in the comments below.

Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he’s found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.
