Enjoy the New Resident Evil Requiem Trailer with Improved PS5 Graphics

Republished trailer reveals obvious improvements over Switch 2

Image: Push SquareThere’s no doubt the Switch 2 is a phenomenal piece of hardware, and a huge upgrade on the original console.

But given its form factor and handheld functionality, it’s not a PS5.

So, when Capcom showcased the latest trailer for Resident Evil Requiem during this week’s Nintendo Direct, we got to see how the game will look on the Mario maker’s machine.

Now Sony has republished the trailer showing PS5 footage, so you can enjoy it all over again with much moodier lighting and overall improved presentation.

While the Switch 2 version looks adequate, it’s a clear step down from Sony’s system, with heroine Grace Ashcroft’s luxurious hair getting the biggest downgrade.

The lighting – a standout feature in this title – is also dramatically different, lacking the same depth and detail as on PS5.

Now obviously the scalability of the RE Engine is working in Capcom’s favour here, and we’re sure plenty of players will thoroughly enjoy playing the game on the Switch 2. That’s no bad thing.

But clearly the adventure will be better experienced on the PS5, where the improved visuals will add to the overall sense of immersion.

What are your thoughts on Resident Evil Requiem now you’ve seen a couple of trailers? Which platform will you be playing it on? Let us know below.
