Forza Horizon 6 Coming 2026, Finally Set In Japan

It’s happening, folks. Forza Horizon 6 has been confirmed for 2026, and it will be set in Japan.

Announced during Microsoft’s Games Showcase at the Tokyo Game Show, it’s the first time the series has taken the Horizon Festival to Asia.

We don’t have much info to work with at the moment, with a teaser trailer taking us on a whistle-stop tour of past Horizon festival locations via trinkets – with stops in North America, courtesy of Colorado in the original title and Mexico in FH5, two European visits with FH2’s cross-border Italy and France map, as well as the UK for FH4, and to Australia in FH3.

That then leads us to a maneki neko figure – the Japanese lucky cat – before a shot shows the Horizon 6 logo overlayed on Mount Fuji.

Unsurprisingly, it’ll launch first on Xbox Series S and X consoles, as well as PC, with availability from day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It’ll also be available on Steam, while a PlayStation 5 version has also been confirmed “post-launch”. That latter version will be developed in-house by Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios, rather than outsourced to Panic Button, as was the case with FH5.

On the announcement, Playground Games said: “In Forza Horizon 6, you will get to discover a scenic and breathtaking Japan, where you will build up your racing status to become a Legend at the Horizon Festival.

“As you already know, Japan has been one of the most iconic and requested locations by the Forza Horizon community. We are so excited for you to experience it, and we can’t wait to share more details on Forza Horizon 6 early next year. Stay tuned!”

No word yet on an exact release date, but Forza Horizon 6 is now available to wishlist on the Microsoft Store and Steam.
