Meet Your Instructors
Adam Perlmutter is the editorial director of Acoustic Guitar. He holds a bachelor of music degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and a masterâs degree in Contemporary Improvisation from the New England Conservatory. Adam will be leading our âLunch and Learn,â demystifying the process of transcribing music.
You know Grammy Award-winning guitarist Chris âCritterâ Eldridge from the Punch Brothers, Infamous Stringdusters, and collaborations with Julian Lage. He appeared in Inside Llewyn Davis, won Instrumentalist of the Year at the Americana Music Honors & Awards, and has served as the Visiting Associate Professor of Contemporary American Acoustic Music at Oberlin. Critter will show you how to Get Good Tone!
Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers, founding editor of Acoustic Guitar, is a grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and author of The Complete Singer-Songwriter and other books and videos for musicians. In Take Your Accompaniment Beyond Strumming, JPR will share tools and techniques to serve your song.
Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter Jontavious Willis performs original tunes in the style of Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and Gospel Blues. He has served as Artistic Director for the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Workshop since 2020. For his Couch Camp workshop, Jontavious will Explore the West Georgia Blues.
Laura Snowden is an award-winning guitarist, vocalist, and composer. Her eclectic repertoire comprises classical, folk and contemporary music, with storytelling at its heart. In The Magical Range of Nylon Strings, Snowden will show you the expressive nature and wide variety of sound you get from playing nylon strings. Theyâre not just for classical and flamenco players!
Award-winning guitarist Mary Flower hosts the Blues in the Gorge guitar camp and has recorded numerous CDs and instructional DVDs. In Arranging in Dropped-D, Mary will share insights into playing and arranging roots music in this alternate tuning.
Stash Wyslouch is an avant-garde bluegrass guitarist, singer, and songwriter. His music delights in storytelling, improvisation and outer space worthy composition. At Couch Camp, Stash will lead us down the path of Bluegrass Improvisation.
