Ex-Vikings WR Quietly Returns to Chargers

Jalen Reagor played for the Minnesota Vikings in 2022, and after some bouncing around the NFL, he has returned to the Los Angeles Chargers, his 2024 employer.
Like the Vikings, the Los Angeles Chargers have battled too many injuries in 2025, and one ex-Vikings speedster is on his way back to Tinseltown.
Needing wide receiver and special teams depth, Jim Harbaugh and friends will now have Reagor one practice-squad call-up away from the gameday roster.
It’s a Re-Run for Former Vikings WR Jalen Reagor
The man has wheels, that’s for sure.

Jalen Reagor Reunites with Chargers
It’s a done deal for Reagor to get another run in Los Angeles, joining Jim Harbaugh’s practice squad.
CBS Sports announced Tuesday, “The Chargers signed Jalen Reagor (undisclosed) to the practice squad Tuesday. Reagor was placed on the Chargers’ practice-squad injured list Aug. 31 and cut with an injury settlement 10 days later. Now healthy, he’s back with Los Angeles and could be an option to handle return duties while Derius Davis (knee) recovers from injury.”
Reagor will get another stint with a playoff-contending team.
A Split That Didn’t Last Long
The new scenery for Reagor isn’t so new. He spent about 80% of the 2024 campaign with the Chargers, and a few months later, Los Angeles re-upped with the speedster in free agency. Reagor proceeded to spend the whole spring and summer with the Chargers, but he failed to make the cut on the 53-man roster.
So, to the practice squad he went — for a couple of weeks. On September 10th, Los Angeles released Reagor with an injury settlement, and he’s basically hung out for a month, waiting for the call from somebody.
That somebody turned out to be his former employer, and Reagor is back in the saddle.
Reagor caught 7 passes for 100 yards in 2024 as a Charger and stayed available for any possible punt- or kick-returning duty.
The Chargers’ WR Room
Because Quentin Johnston has erupted in Year No. 3 — a lesson for all NFL fans not to give up on a young player until his third or fourth season — the Chargers suddenly have a formidable and productive wide receiving corps for quarterback Justin Herbert to feed on Sundays.

Vikings Play Chargers in Week 8
While the Vikings may not see Reagor in the flesh during the event, Minnesota will travel to Los Angeles for a date with Reagor’s team in 15 days. Minnesota is enjoying a bye week at the moment, but in Week 7, it will host the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium. Four days later, it’s on to SoFi Stadium for a showdown with the injury-ravaged Chargers, who won’t have OT Rashawn Slater or RBs Omarion Hampton or Najee Harris in the lineup.
Too, Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy, if healthy, will face Harbaugh for the first time, his coach at the University of Michigan.
An Eagles Victory Lap
When Reagor was dropped by the Chargers last month, Eagles-themed media fired up an “I told you so” approach regarding the former 1st-Rounder.
InsideTheIggles.com’s Lior Lampert wrote, “The Los Angeles Chargers have reportedly released wide receiver Jalen Reagor with an injury settlement. He’ll now be searching for his next opportunity upon returning to full strength.”
“How much health factored into the decision is unclear, but Philadelphia Eagles fans would say this move was only a matter of time. We don’t need to open an old wound, though Reagor’s name will haunt the Eagles for a long time. Infamously passing up on arguably the best player at his position and a franchise-altering talent, Justin Jefferson, in favor of him will never not sting.”
Reagor is very much the Eagles fans’ version of Laquon Treadwell in Vikings lore.

“No matter how much success they’ve enjoyed since, the Philadelphia faithful can’t shake this feeling of regret. While members of the Bird Gang are talking from a biased point of view, they’re also doing so from firsthand experience. Those who watched the Eagles during Reagor’s forgetful two seasons with the club know what he brings to the table (or doesn’t). Few are as qualified to speak on him, even if it’s with a bitter taste in their mouths,” Lampert continued.
“Where Reagor has been impactful at times is on special teams, although not consistently enough to merit sticking around for long. He fielded punts and kicks for the Eagles and Chargers, among other squads, returning one of each for a score. Nevertheless, his efforts in this facet of the game can only get him so far.”
Reagor will turn 27 near the end of the regular season.
