Ottawa Redblacks’ fullback Marco Dubois can expect to hear from the Canadian Football League this week after he was ejected from his team’s Thanksgiving clash with the Montreal Alouettes.
The 31-year-old was tangled up with linebacker Tyrell Richards while covering a punt mid-way through the fourth quarter. The pair of special teams aces engaged in the typical pushing and shoving after the whistle before emotions got the better of Dubois, causing him to rear back and punch Richards in the helmet.
Dubois was assessed an automatic rough play disqualification and was escorted off the field. Per CFL rules, any player who strikes an opponent with a closed or open fist is subject to ejection. A 25-yard penalty was also applied, setting up a Montreal field goal.
Prior to his exit, Dubois had caught two passes for 38 yards. The Alouettes won the game 30-10.
