When I was growing up, there was one beauty brand that was a staple in my mom’s makeup bag: Clinique. I never saw her go a day without touching up her makeup with its kohl eyeliner or (now TikTok-viral) Black Honey lipstick. The company’s name became imprinted in my novice makeup brain as a brand I could rely on—chock-full of high-quality products in timeless shades, with pigmented formulas and plenty of hydrating, antiaging ingredients. As I’ve grown older, the best Clinique products have made their way into my own cosmetic and skin care routine. Like my mom, I turn to Clinique to keep my skin and makeup looking brighter, plumper, and fresher.

If you’re starting to notice fine lines too—or already have mature skin—you’ll find plenty to love among Clinique’s skin care products. Tested and approved by Glamour editors, these picks range from a radiance-boosting vitamin C serum, antiaging cream, and eye cream for wrinkles to a trending brown lipstick and classic perfume—all designed to keep your skin and makeup looking fresh and vibrant.

One of the reasons I rely on Clinique’s skin care is because its products feature dermatologist-approved ingredients, like this wrinkle-correcting cream with firming peptides and soybean seed extract and hydrating hyaluronic acid. The results? Restored moisture and visible improvement in areas prone to sagging, such as around the mouth and under the eyes. The texture feels thick and creamy, yet absorbent, leaving skin that’s deeply moisturized but not greasy.

What our tester says: “After a few days of using this cream, I was so surprised by how soft it left my skin. Though its consistency is quite thick, my wrinkles definitely looked less crepey and defined,” says Glamour copy manager Charlotte Twine, who is in her 50s.

If you’re hoping to soften fine lines and reduce dark circles, Clinique’s Smart Clinical Repair line includes a wrinkle-correcting formula that targets crow’s feet and loss of firmness around the eyes. Its blend of peptides, hyaluronic acid, and plant extracts helps smooth, hydrate, and support the delicate skin in this area.

What our tester says: “The thin skin around my eyes, especially in the inner corners, which sags down a little bit, looked firmer and plumper after almost two weeks of using this product. This cream takes a while to absorb, so I was careful how much I used at a time. I would just dot a little on the tips of my fingers and tap the product on,” says Twine.

A dark-spot corrector can be a valuable addition to any antiaging routine, especially if you’re hoping to minimize discoloration or hyperpigmentation. This Clinique serum is one of the best we’ve tested and works well if you’re trying to eliminate acne scars or melasma It has vitamin C, niacinamide, and proprietary ingredients that brighten skin and even out tone. The lightweight, nongreasy formula absorbs easily, leaving skin smoother, more refined, and visibly clearer.

What our tester says: “This serum has become a useful part of my skin care arsenal, especially for combating the darkening of my age spots as I get older and continue living under the intense South Florida sun,” says Twine. “I noticed that the discoloration looked a little lighter after using it. The spots definitely didn’t worsen, even after a few days in the sun.”

A vitamin C serum can be an effective addition to any skin care routine to target visible signs of aging. This potent formula plumps and brightens skin with 10% vitamin C to help fade age spots and discoloration. It also comes in a booster format that mixes seamlessly into moisturizer for a fresh, dewy finish.

What our tester says: “The star of this serum’s show is definitely the applicator—you remove the foil lid, press the button to activate the vitamin C, then shake for 15 seconds before mixing it into your daily moisturizer,” says Twine. “I tried it on the back of my hand first, and the serum made my moisturizer feel silkier and gave my skin an instant gleam and plumpness. Once you get used to the process, it’s an easy way to boost your routine without adding another full layer of serum.”

Best Mascara: Clinique High Impact MascaraOriginal photo from Charlotte Twine testing Clinique Try It On High Impact Mascara

Clinique High Impact Mascara

Finding eye makeup that works well with changing skin and lash needs (like menopausal hair loss) can take some trial and error. This pigmented yet gentle mascara makes the search easier, featuring conditioning waxes that coat lashes for a lengthened, voluminous look. It’s non-clumping, easy to remove, and formulated to avoid irritation—ideal for sensitive eyes or anyone who prefers a milder formula.

What our tester says: “My lashes have gotten pretty sparse as I’ve gotten older, and it usually takes a lot of effort to make them show up around my eyes, but this formula did an impressive job without looking goopy,” says Twine. “I especially like this mascara for its wispy, buildable, non-clumping finish. If you want more dramatic lashes, the key is layering. The first coat goes on very natural, but as I added more, it became thicker, fluffier, and a little showgirl-like.”

One of fall’s biggest makeup trends has to be brown lipstick. There’s so much you can do with the versatile shade, which looks good on almost everyone. This iconic sheer formula has been a Clinique cult favorite for years (and has now taken over TikTok) because it leaves behind a warm-toned, your-lips-but-better tint. It’s also nourishing, formulated with conditioning castor seed oil.

What our tester says: I’ve been a big fan of this lipstick since I spotted it years ago in my mom’s makeup kit. She used to apply it on me during my theater and ballet performances as a kid, and I now love it as much as an adult. It’s the perfect moody shade that’s buildable, whether you want just a veil of color (one swipe can do that) or a more pigmented finish (two to three can get you that).

Best Fragrance: Clinique Happy

Clinique Happy Eau de Parfum Spray (1.7 fl. oz.)

Clinique Happy remains one of the most enduring perfumes, with its notes of grapefruit and bergamot. It’s a fresh, bright scent that suits any age. While it makes an excellent gift for her, the cologne version is an equally thoughtful gift for men.

What our tester says: “I love this in warm weather because it works with sweat, rather than against it, but I’ve also found myself reaching for it in the middle of winter to combat the doom and gloom,” says Glamour contributor Ariel Wodarcyk.

Clinique also offers a range of multitasking beauty products, and one of our favorites has to be this lip and cheek oil. It can be applied to both areas for a warm, pigmented flush and is especially suited to mature or aging skin, since it won’t settle into fine lines. The formula includes safflower seed, jojoba, and castor oils to keep skin soft, hydrated, and nourished.

What our tester says: “Upon first swipe, it gave my lips a delicate wash of red, almost like watercolor,” says Twine. “When I added a couple more layers—Black Honey is famously buildable—it transformed into a Studio 54–level gloss. The oil is not greasy, just slick and super moisturizing. It also works beautifully as a blush; the shade complements my pink undertones and blends easily with no harsh lines.”
