But when Roberta McCoy came up with less than $2K â offering $1K plus $235, Marvin didnât hesitate to correct her, saying, âNow, thatâs only $1200. Yâall not listening to what Iâm saying. If you have $1000 plus $1000.â To which Roberta replied, âWell, Iâm going to work on the other $800.â Marvin then responded with, âWell, that ainât what I asked you to do.âÂ
Following the outrage over Bishop Marvin Winansâ comment, he spoke exclusively with WXYZ Detroit to share his side. He told the outlet that he was simply calling people up and telling them to listen.
âI was calling because the whole church was giving, and it was our day of giving, and the whole church was coming, and we didnât want people standing, the mothers and all of that, so I was calling them by increments,â Marvin Winans explained.
