Kelsey Grammer’s 8th Baby: Wife Kayte Walsh Gives Birth

Kelsey Grammer Welcomes Baby No. 8 at Age 70 as Wife Kayte Gives Birth

Kelsey Grammer is saying cheers to a new addition.

The Frasier alum, 70, shared that his wife Kayte Walsh, 46, gave birth to their fourth baby together, a son named Christopher.

“It was like three days ago,” Kelsey told cohosts Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle and Rider Strong during the Oct. 27 episode of their Pod Meets World podcast. “Christopher’s just joined the family.”

And the actor—who also shares kids Faith, 12, Gabriel, 10, and James, 8, with Kayte—emphasized that his newborn is becoming part of a big blended fam. After all, Kelsey is also dad to Spencer, 41, whom he shares with ex Doreen Alderman, and Greer, 33, with ex Barrie Buckner, as well as Mason, 23, and Jude, 20, who he shares with ex Camille Grammer.

As he put it, “It just became eight kids.”

Kayte—who married Kelsey in 2011—first revealed that she was expecting back in June, when she put her growing bump on display during an outing in London.

And Kelsey was undoubtedly thrilled about expanding their family, as he previously shared that fatherhood has been one of the most fulfilling roles he’s played in life.

“My children—my young children, older children—the happiest I ever am is if they’re all in the same room together,” the Emmy winner told Variety in 2024. “My work has allowed me to be able to do that. I’ve been given this great experience. It’s been painful and challenging and hard and tragic—all those things. But boy, it’s a great life. And I want to pass that on to them.”

Indeed, Kelsey has already passed some of what he’s learned over the years down to his kids. In fact, the Cheers actor said that several of his offspring have opted to pursue careers in the entertainment industry just like their dad.

“Kayte and I were talking about how it’s really something that a child would follow in their father’s footsteps,” he said. “To think that all my kids, at least the ones that have a hand in the air, are ready to take responsibility for their lives, are all drawn to this industry. [Kayte] said, ‘That’s something to be proud of.’”
