Best early Black Friday deals

We’re officially back in Black Friday season, folks.

Though Black Friday falls on Nov. 28 this year, retailers are already kicking off sales. Best Buy dropped early deals and doorbusters on Oct. 31, and Target started their first holiday savings event on Nov. 6. Even though retailers like Walmart and Amazon haven’t kicked off any programming yet (you can expect that to start on Nov. 14 and Nov. 20, respectively), we’ve spotted plenty of Black Friday-worthy deals that you can shop early to get ahead of your holiday list.

Keep checking back for the best Black Friday deals from Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy.

Why we like itThe 13-inch MacBook Air is down to a record-low price of $749 ahead of Black Friday. This is our favorite laptop for students, thanks to its M4 silicon and slim design. This markdown is so good that even if it does happen to drop lower for Black Friday or Cyber Monday (and we’re not counting on it), you still score a great deal without all the chaos of Black Friday shopping.

Why we like itRead our full review of the Bose QuietComfort Ultra (Gen 1) headphones.

The Bose QC Ultra headphones have long been some of our favorite noise-cancelling headphones. Even though Bose recently replaced them with a new Gen 2 model, the originals are still an excellent value for your money — especially at the record low price of $299.

Frequently Asked Questions

This year, Black Friday falls on Nov. 28, and as per usual, it starts promptly at midnight on Thanksgiving. However, in the past few years, the biggest big box retailers have started launching their sales weeks in advance of the holiday weekend. In fact, some retailers no longer offer in-store shopping at midnight at all. So, while some doorbusters will only be available on Nov. 28, you can shop most of the deals early.

Cyber Monday takes place on Monday, Dec. 1 in 2025.

This year, the official Amazon Black Friday sale starts on Nov. 20 and runs through Cyber Monday on Dec. 1. However, Amazon will almost certainly save some deals for Black Friday itself. Typically, Amazon puts new deals live at midnight on the West Coast, so if you are shopping on Black Friday, expect Amazon’s sale to start at 12:01 PST on Friday, Nov. 28. However, the Everything Store will certainly drop plenty of early deals before then.

For 2025, Walmart has promised to bring back “its biggest lineup of deals — including thousands of gifts under $20 and up to 60% off top-brands.” Here’s the official schedule for the retailer’s Black Friday-Cyber Monday sale:

Walmart Black Friday Deals, Event 1: Nov. 14 to 16

Walmart Black Friday Deals, Event 2: Nov. 25-30

Walmart Cyber Monday Deals: Dec. 1

Target kicked off holiday shopping extra early this year, with “special deals dropping daily Nov. 1 through Dec. 24. Each week until Christmas, Target will be launching a new round of deals every Sunday.

If Target launched its Black Friday sale extra early, then Best Buy started its sale extra-extra early. Or, as Best Buy said in a press release, it put the creep in “holiday creep” by launching its sale on Halloween. Here’s the full schedule of Best Buy’s Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and holiday sales:

Door BOOster sales: Oct. 31

New Best Buy doorbusters every Friday: Starts Oct. 31

Early Black Friday deals: Oct. 31 to Nov. 19

Black Friday Sale: Nov. 20 to 29

Cyber Sunday & Monday: Nov. 30 to Dec. 1

Last-Minute Savings: Dec. 15 to 24

Unfortunately, price matching isn’t as common as it used to be. In recent years, Target has been the only major retailer to offer price matching, though even the Bullseye brand has changed things up for Black Friday 2025. (Womp, womp.) This year, Target is offering a Holiday Price Match Guarantee, but only for its own prices. So, if you buy something at Target and the price goes down later in the holiday season, you can contact Target to get the lower price.
