Aaron Ramsdale reveals dream ambition he is yet to achieve in his career that Alisson last did
Aaron Ramsdale has admitted he dreams of scoring a goal before he retires, despite the obvious problem with his position.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper who spent three seasons at Premier League giants Arsenal before a summer switch to Southampton, explained his ambition to the Hawksbee and Baker show on talkSPORT.

“I can’t even say I’ve come close, I’ve been up for a few corners and close to a header and been nowhere near it when I’ve watched the replay.
“But you dream about it, it’s all you dream about as a kid, even now I still dream about it. So hopefully I can get one before I retire, it’d be nice to pop up with one this season, wouldn’t it?”
MORE ON PREMIER LEAGUEBaker said he will donate ÂŁ100 for every goal he scores this season to the Willow Foundation, a charity that creates experiences and treats for seriously ill young adults and their loved ones.
Ramsdale has been a supporter of the Foundation and is now one of their ambassadors, replying to Baker saying: “Sounds like a deal.”
Should Ramsdale find the back of the net in the Premier League, he would become only the seventh goalkeeper to ever do so.
Peter Schmeichel was the first in 2001 for Aston Villa when he netted a volley against Everton, with Brad Friedel scoring for Blackburn Rovers three years later.
Paul Robinson, Tim Howard and Asmir Begovic scored goals for Tottenham, Everton and Stoke City respectively, all of which came from long range.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is the most recent player to make the unique list having scored a late winner against West Brom in 2021.
Ramsdale is clearly keen to join them but will surely remain focused on matters in his own goal for his new club.

During his career at Arsenal, he kept 32 clean sheets in 89 appearances and has earned five caps with England in that time.
He arrived from Bournemouth in 2020 for ÂŁ30m and soon cemented his place as the club’s no.1 under manager Mikel Arteta.
‘No bitterness’ – Aaron Ramsdale Opens Up On His Arsenal Exit!
But the arrival of David Raya on a permanent deal in 2024 eventually led to Ramsdale seeking opportunities elsewhere, with Southampton taking him back to the south coast.
“Iâve been around football long enough that the managerâs decision is the managerâs decision,” he told talkSPORT when quizzed on whether he was bitter about his exit.
âI tried my best to change his mind and force my way back in. His mind was set and at the same time David had a great season.
âYou can have all the upset or qualms about being taken out but when someone else is delivering, youâve just got to take it on the chin.
âIt was tough but Iâve found a new home and Iâm looking forward to playing again. You move on, thereâs no bad blood and youâve got to restart your career again.”
Not that he is guaranteed a starting spot at St Mary’s with Alex McCarthy and Gavin Buzunu challenging.
