Tactical enemies that lure and change their position. The original Dragon’s Dogma featured very intimidating environments. And the enemies inhabiting those environments were even worse. They were hard to fight; they were relentless. So much so that many players made it a point not to travel through that world at night.
The sequel seems to be doing better by making enemies even harder. This time, they would lure players towards their position. And they would even move so they could gain an advantage in a particular kind of environment.
It offers a very unique way of playing.Usually, role-playing games offer players to choose from a bunch of classes. Those classes are called vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Now every class or vocation allows for a different kind of gameplay; there’s a sword fighter, a thief, an archer, and even a mage that uses magic to defeat their enemies.
But Dragon’s Dogma offers a twist: besides the usual vocations, players can choose mixed vocations with dual abilities. A magick archer, or a spell hand with mystical powers. These combinations would no doubt allow for a new, unique, dynamic playthrough.
The Trickster is something else altogether.Coming to the most unique kind of vocation, the trickster. This is a unique one. It does not have a sword that slashes at enemies, nor does it have any spells that eat through a monster’s health bar. But they do something that no one would expect them to do: lure enemies towards them using a very harmless spell.
The trickster also has the ability to leave decoys on the battlefield. These also attract enemies toward themselves. So what does the player do with all these harmless tricks? Well, one last trick that this trickster has would answer this question. They have a spell that smokes the area, so enemies cannot see the ledges they are heading towards. This would make them fall to their deaths.
Then there’s a very powerful spell called Dragon’s Delusion that brings an illusion of a dragon in front of the enemies. This scares them and brings them down to their knees, effectively giving player pawns a chance to strike them.
This vocation is the tool of a creative player. Those who want something unique from their games would love to get their hands on this kind of character.

Players of Dragon’s Dogma 2 are not limited to just slashing at the enemies or using magic to dispose of them. There are many tricks up this game’s sleeve that only the most attentive players would notice. As witnessed in a gameplay demo a while ago, players can defeat the larger enemies using the environment too. Trapping them, making things fall on them, and much more.
It looks like this might be one of the most dynamic games Capcom has ever made. And that would really make this game worth getting. Especially for all the gamers who are always looking for something new and unique in their role-playing games.
