Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: McKenzie, Pulisic, and more
Mark McKenzie celebrated his first Ligue 1 goal on Sunday and now turns his attention towards Coupe De France play midweek.
McKenzie and Toulouse face Guingamp in the Coupe De France Round of 16 on Wednesday. The U.S. men’s national team defender helped Toulouse earn one point on Sunday against Nice and now will aim to stay in the starting lineup.
The former Philadelphia Union homegrown has continued to play a large role in his first season in France. McKenzie has made 20 appearances for Toulouse in all competitions and will certainly add to that total a lot more by season’s end.
Toulouse will be favored to advance past Guingamp but the Ligue 1 hosts cannot take their opponents lightly.
In England, Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United face Coventry City midweek. Emily Fox and Arsenal seek advancement in the Women’s League Cup.
In Italy, Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah and AC Milan continue Coppa Italia play.
In the Netherlands, Paxten Aaronson and Richie Ledezma seek KNVB Cup advancement with their respective clubs.
