Amorim still hopeful about Amad return

Ruben Amorim has revealed that Amad is anxious to get back out on the pitch for Manchester United before the end of the season.
The Ivorian hasn’t featured since early February, with the ankle injury he suffered in training, prior to our trip to Tottenham Hotspur keeping him on the sidelines.
The boss suggested recently that our no.16 could return at the end of this term and this is still the hope.

United have eight Premier League fixtures to play and we are still, of course, in the Europa League mix, with French club Lyon up next in the quarter-finals.
Amad has been one of our star performers in 2024/25, contributing eight assists and nine goals across his 36 appearances – including the decider in December’s Manchester derby – and winning Player of the Month on three separate occasions.
“He’s doing quite well,” said Ruben, in his pre-match interview with Mark Sullivan at Carrington.
“We hope to have him before the season is finished.
“We’ll see, but he’s anxious to play, so we are waiting for him.”
Amorim hopes Kobbie Mainoo can be fit to feature in Sunday’s Manchester derby, but Matthijs de Ligt is a doubt, as he picked up a knock during the 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.
Harry Maguire, Mason Mount and Leny Yoro all returned to action at The City Ground, while Altay Bayindir was in the matchday squad again after a two-month absence.
