Angela Simmons can’t seem to catch a break, as she’s now being teased for posing in a bathtub full of Oreos.

In promotion for her new Fried Oreo collaboration between Angela’s Cakes and Slutty Vegan, Simmons submerged herself in “America’s favorite cookie” while also enjoying a glass of milk.

The promo clip showed the mother of one having innocent fun, but critics began adding their commentary on the “cringey” shoot, even so much that a few comedians recreated the photo.

Now Oreo and the 36-year-old have fired back at critics with support for one another.

“Imagine hating me and I’m just at home doing this. Boy we have a crush on Angela Simmons,” the cookie brand posted to its official Instagram account.

In response, Simmons wrote on her Story, “We have a crush on you too.”

The tub full of Oreos photo was parodied by a few online comedians including Kevin Fredericks (KevOnStage), Alton Walker, Lacboi, and more.

Kev posted himself in a tub with just a few Oreos spread out across him. “Tried to market like Angela Simmons but I only had one pack of Oreos at home,” he joked in the caption. In Walker’s post, he jokingly called out Simmons for wasting money on Oreos. “You done spent about $300 on cookies,” he wrote.

Additionally, Lacboi compared his recreation to the original, calling his photo “Tubi” and Simmons’ “Netflix.”

Simmons’ most recent backlash follows her appearance at the 2024 BET Awards, where she sported a glitzy gun clutch to compliment her peacock-esque gown and silver shoes.

Although her look was fire, many felt it was an insensitive gesture to gun violence victims — including her own son’s father and more recently her beau Yo Gotti’s brother. Following much commentary, Simmons apologized for her fashion moment.

“So I see a lot of of conversation around the bag, purse I wore to the awards and normally I don’t address rumors and stuff, but I’m not like that. Never been like that,” she said in video. “I’m super, like not violent. I’ve obviously been through a lot in my personal life when it comes to gun violence and it’s very personal to me. But I just liked the bag and I thought it was cool and thought it was a fashion moment.”

“I didn’t have any intentions of ruffling anyone’s feathers,” she added. “It seems like everyone’s– or a couple of people are a little upset, but I don’t mean no harm. I’m super, super peaceful. I’m sorry if it bothered anyone but that’s not me, that’s just not how I am.”
