Angelina Jolie Does Slouchy Dressing the Right Way for Latest Outing With Daughter Zahara

Angelina Jolie’s not a regular mom, she’s a Rich MomTM.

On December 27, the mother of six brought half of her brood to check out the New York City location of her new fashion project, Atelier Jolie. The 48-year-old actor was photographed holding hands with her 18-year-old daughter Zahara. Two of her sons, 20-year-old Pax and 15-year-old Knox, were also in attendance.

As many college students on winter break are wont to do, Zahara dressed for comfort in black sweats, a puffy North Face Jacket, and grey converse sneakers, while Jolie matched her daughter’s cozy vibe in an elevated monochromatic look. Instead of sweats, Jolie stayed a pair of wide-leg black trousers and luxe wool coat with gently rounded edges, giving the ensemble some structure without any stiffness.

The actor managed that same balance with her accessories, opting for a classic black-heeled boot, which she softened with an oversized quilted leather tote. Of course, no Angelina Jolie street-style moment would be complete without a pair of her signature black sunglasses.

The entire look goes perfectly with the ethos of her new retail venture, which utilizes sustainable and ethically sourced materials. “Sometimes the way you dress says, ‘Don’t mess with me—I’ve got my armor on,’” Jolie told Vogue in September. “But I want a woman to feel safe enough that she can be soft.”

Jolie continued, “After I went through something where I was hurt, I had a therapist ask if I would try wearing a flowing garment. Sounds silly, but I assumed that pants and boots projected a ‘tougher’ look, a stronger me. But was I strong enough to be soft? At the time, no. I felt vulnerable. Now I wonder if I don’t know what my style is because I’m still understanding who I am at 48. I guess I’m in transition as a person.”

Angelina Jolie may not be ready to define her style, but something about this look just feels right.
