Another NFL analyst emplores Minnesota Vikings to sign former Pro Bowler
We are in the peak of the offseason and the Minnesota Vikings are less than three weeks from reporting to training camp. Before that happens another NFL analyst believes they should sign former Las Vegas wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. This time, it’s Pro Football Network’s Lorenzo Reyna.
Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison are the 1-2 punch, but Minnesota could use a No. 3.
Hunter Renfrow remains unsigned. Perhaps he can be the new Adam Thielen here, especially with J.J. McCarthy as the future under center.
Reyna isn’t the first one, as ESPN’s Bill Barnwell had the same opinion. It’s easy to see why the opinion is shared. Renfrow is a talented player who made the Pro Bowl in 2021 with 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns.
Why Hunter Renfrow hasn’t been signedFor some reason, Renfrow went from being one of the best in the game to not playing much at all. How much of that was on McDaniels not liking him versus him being washed? The answer here is likely why he doesn’t have a contract in the NFL.
The Vikings wide receiver three spot is currently up for grabs with multiple players making the claim for the spot. If the price is right, Renfrow makes sense. The question remains: why would they sign him now? Despite having around $15 million in functional cap space, they haven’t made a move yet. That tells us the Vikings believe in their wide receiver room.
If they end up making a move on a wide receiver, it will be due to the current group not making a good impression.
