Anthony Richardson injury update: Latest news on Indianapolis Colts QB’s hip

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson exited Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to an injury.

After driving the Colts down the field on the opening drive of the game, which resulted in a Jonathan Taylor rushing touchdown, Richardson took a 16-yard run up the middle.

As Richardson was getting tackled, a Steelers defender hit him in the back. Richardson was immediately in pain holding his hip.

It seemed as though Richardson was okay after missing two plays considering he returned to the field. However, he ran the ball again near the goal line and immediately went down again.

Anthony Richardson injury updateThe Colts announced near the end of the first quarter that Richardson is questionable to return with a hip injury.

Richardson went to the locker room after trying to come back into the game but was standing on the sideline with his helmet to begin the second quarter.

Richardson missed the majority of his rookie season after suffering a Grade 3 AC joint sprain. He hasn’t missed a snap yet this season, but getting him to play a full season is the biggest objective for his development.

With Richardson out of the game, Joe Flacco will replace him under center.
