Arsenal to revive Douglas Luiz interest?
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to renew their pursuit of Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Arsenal are reportedly expected to renew their interest in Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the Brazil international , after failing to secure his signature in the 2022 summer transfer window.
Arsenal allegedly had as many as three bids rejected by Aston Villa, who have managed to keep hold of Luiz in the intervening period.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are preparing to revive their pursuit of Luiz ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
Luiz has been an integral part of Unai Emery’s side this season, having scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

The Brazilian’s impressive form has ultimately caught the attention of Arsenal, who may need to bolster their engine room in the summer transfer window.
There is uncertainty surrounding the future of a number of Arsenal midfielders, including Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny.
The Gunners are planning to offload Partey this summer due to his persistent injury issues, while Elneny is likely to depart when his deal expires at the end of the season.
Jorginho is also out of contract in the summer, but Arsenal are expected to open talks over extending the Italian’s stay in North London.
Nevertheless, with at least two midfielders set to depart, the Gunners could decide to move for Luiz, who is under contract until June 2026.

The Villans are currently fighting for Champions League qualification, with the club sitting in fourth place and five points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth position.
Although they are hoping to reach UEFA’s top club competition, Aston Villa may still have to sell players if they want to make new signings in the summer.
There is a suggestion that the Villans may have to raise funds, before they can bolster their squad ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Jacob Ramsey has attracted interest from Newcastle United, while there is a belief that Boubacar Kamara had caught the attention of potential suitors before he sustained a season-ending knee injury last month.
