Attorney for Lizzo’s Ex-Dancers Slams Biden Fundraising Performance at Radio City Music Hall

President Biden held a fundraiser in New York City at Radio City Music Music Hall that featured former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. The event was moderated by Stephen Colbert and featured a performance from Lizzo—who is embroiled in her own scandal involving ex-dancers.Other musicians who performed at the DNC fundraising event include Queen Latifah, Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo, and Lea Michele. Tickets for the event cost between $250 and $500,000, with more than 5,000 people expected to attend. Following the record-setting fundraising event, an attorney for Lizzo’s former dancers released a statement criticizing her performance.

“It’s shameful that Lizzo would be chosen to headline an event like this amid such egregious allegations,” attorney Ron Zambrano told NewsNation. “Without getting into the politics, I can’t imagine why anyone would want Lizzo representing them in any way, given her reprehensible behavior. It’s just a terrible look.”

A trio of backup dancers for the singer filed a sexual harassment lawsuit in August 2023 against Lizzo. Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams allege the dancer and her production company created a “hostile, abusive work environment” that made their “working conditions intolerable.”They also allege that Lizzo pressured one of them to touch a nude performer at a strip club in Amsterdam. Another allegation includes Lizzo subjecting the group to “excruciating” auditions following accusations that the trio drank on the job.

Meanwhile, Lizzo’s attorneys argue that the dancers were fired with due cause for poor conduct after showing up drunk to work. “Plaintiffs missed flights, arrived late and hungover to rehearsals and drunk to performances, entered into consensual sexual relationships with male crew members on tour, exhibited a rapid decline in the quality of their dancing and professionalism, and ultimately conspired to make and disseminate an unauthorized recording of a creative meeting with Lizzo and the dance cast,” an October 2023 court filing reads.
