On Sunday, April 28, Nelly took to his Instagram Story to share a photo alongside Ashanti. In the picture, Ashanti appears to be seated on Nelly’s lap and looks down at him. Meanwhile, the rapper holds his hand up to his forehead in what seems to be a rubbing motion.

Additionally, the rapper added a caption to the photo.

“OF COURSE NOT BEAUTIFUL IM FINE… LUV U 2… @ASHANTI”

Social media users entered The Shade Room’s comment section to guess what Nelly’s message to his fianceé was about.

Instagram user @kaveshaaa wrote, “She definitely asked if she’s too heavy that’s why he said what he said 😭😭😭”

While Instagram user @kychavon added,  “The question was: ‘Am I heavy ?’ Nelly: ‘of course not beautiful, I’m fine!’ 😂😂😂😂😂😂”

Instagram user @_uhmazing_1 wrote, “She’s asking if she is too heavy 😂”

While Instagram user @lainabeslaying added, “She’s questioning him is she hurting his leg, he’s reassuring her she’s not, while his leg going numb 😂”

Additionally, Ashanti weighed in with her own reaction to the rapper’s message via her Instagram Story.

“Lmaoooooo!!!! Babe!!!! Imma knock you out!!!!!!” she wrote, followed by laughing emojis.

Eventually, Nelly returned to his Instagram Story to provide some clarification for his fianceé while sharing sweet words.

“What my love..?? I didn’t say anything..!!” he wrote. “To Me you still the same size you were in 2005..!!”

As The Shade Room previously reported, social media users initially began speculating that Ashanti was expecting in December 2023. At the time, she and Nelly popped out at a black-and-white event.

In now-deleted footage of their joint performance at the event, Nelly was seen rubbing Ashanti’s stomach. At the time, social media users reacted to his gesture in The Shade Room’s comment section.

Then, in February, Ashanti popped out for a performance alongside her man in Miami. In footage shared afterward, it couldn’t help but be noticed that the singer donned an oversized T-shirt for the occasion.

Then, Ashanti confirmed fans’ speculation earlier this month, per The Shade Room. The 43-year-old revealed that she is not only expecting her and Nelly’s first child together but also shared that she and the rapper are engaged.
