Bayern Munich secure Olise transfer
Bayern Munich have finalized the signing of Michael Olise, the Crystal Palace winger who opted to join the Bundesliga champions. This transfer comes after Bayern, Chelsea, and Newcastle all expressed their interest earlier this month.
The negotiation for Olise’s transfer was anticipated to be intricate due to his release clause, which is around £60 million. Additionally, portions of the transfer fee are allocated to Palace, Olise himself, and his former club, Reading. Chelsea had reservations about the overall financial implications of the deal. Last summer, they attempted to acquire the France Under-21 international for approximately £35 million, believing they had met his release clause. However, Olise subsequently signed a new contract with Crystal Palace, extending his stay until 2027.
Olise has been named in France’s squad for the upcoming Paris Olympics, which commence in July. Despite a hamstring injury sidelining him for part of the season, he managed to score 10 goals in 19 appearances for Crystal Palace last year. Manchester United had shown interest in Olise earlier but are now concentrating on different targets.
