Before Humiliating Loss, Charles Barkley Ducked DJ Khaled’s Challenge at Capital One’s ‘The Match’
What happens when two of the worst golf enthusiasts play against each other? Someone gets their feelings hurt. That someone is Charles Barkley after he played head-to-head against DJ Khaled in a par-3 before The Match. Both are known for their love of golf even if their skills in the game are disproportionate. Turns out, the Chuckster is the worst of the worst.

While Chuck went back to his main job – commentating alongside Ernie Johnson – the Grammy-winning music mogul was celebrating loudly. “You’re going to see me and Barkley play 18,” he told Ernie. In fact, he wanted an extended game with Barkley instead of a best 2 out of 3. “He [Barkley] wanted to play a par 3. I wanted to do a full 18.” Ernie said what everyone’s thinking and that is no one wants to see the two of them play a full game.

Khaled still did the humble-brag act to rub it in Barkley’s face making the NBA legend grudgingly say, “Your humbleness on winning is just contagious.” Khaled praised his opponent nonetheless saying, “It was so inspiring to play with a legend like you and to be able to compete and beat you is legendary.” And he wants to do it all over again.
