Best Lux Counters in LoL
Do you need help laning against Lux in League of Legends? Don’t worry—here are the best champions to help you climb the LoL ladder.
Lux is up there as one of the most popular champions in League of Legends history. The mage is tied with Miss Fortune and Akali for the most skins in the game at 19, no other champion has more than these free. On top of that, Lux has an epic skin, one of the few with that honor. On the rift, she is a force to be reckoned with as a champion who can do insane damage both in the mid lane and as a support. So the question is, how do you stop Lux? This article shows the three best Lux counters in League of Legends on patch 14.8.
Best Lux Counters in LoL
Ahri
Although it sounds very simple, if Ahri can dodge Lux’s Q, then the matchup is hers to take. The difference in this mid lane duel is mobility. Lux has little to no mobility while Ahri has it in spades. Once both champions have level six, it’s basically dependent on whether Lux can land her stun or not. If she misses, Ahri can simply use her ultimate to all-in her and, at the very least blow her summoner spells to escape. Lux should be able to have the shove in this lane, so use that to your advantage. When the minions are low, look for quick trades when your ultimate is up. If she misses her abilities, you should look for an all-in immediately.
Aurelion Sol
Like is the case for all three of these counters, they rely on dodging the Lux Q in order to have full control over the lane. Once the Q has been dodged, the lane is A’Sols for a short duration and that is when they should be looking to use their abilities. Try to not get too close as it can be harder for you to dodge the stun. If you do manage to get stunned by Lux, use your ultimate immediately because this should Stun her back, or at least push her away because she may believe your teammates are in the area to kill her. In the late game, Aurelion Sol scales just as well as Lux, if not better. Play around the stacking of your ultimate and use it on multiple people when you have The Skies Descend.
Twisted Fate
Twisted Fate is a great champion to play into Lux in League of Legends. Lux burns through a lot of mana in the early game, but Twisted Fate can stay healthy in the mana game through his Blue Card. Which ever build you opt to go for, you can chase Lux down if she misses her abilities. You can take Ghost in this match-up as well since your ultimate can take the place of the teleport summoner spell. Early on try and stay behind at least two minions, this means Lux will not be able to hit her binding onto you. Once she has used that ability, you can walk up freely and pressure her with your Gold Card.
Yone is one of the worst champions to pick into Lux in League of Legends, according to Mobalytics. Whenever Yone looks to attack, Lux can simply use any of her abilities to whittle him down. If he uses his E, use your E to stun him; he won’t be able to apply any more damage as his E duration quickly drops, and he returns to his position. For Lux, try not to be too far up the lane in this match-up. Lux is highly immobile, and Yone would be able to pick her off with ease. Yone is obviously squishy early on and is not the best laner, so try to poke him down as much as possible.
