Betfair Becomes CR Vasco Da Gama’s Principal Sponsor

British gambling company Betfair has penned a sponsorship agreement with CR Vasco da Gama, a soccer club from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is notably the biggest sponsorship agreement in the club’s history.

According to Vasco’s announcement, the deal is valid through December 31, 2025, and could be renewed for up to two more seasons.

As per the agreement, the betting operator’s brand will feature on the sleeves of the jerseys of the soccer club’s men’s and women’s teams. Additionally, Betfair’s logo will feature across the men’s team’s home stadium. Betfair’s brand will also be promoted across the club’s digital media.

The agreement will also see the two partners work on a series of fan-oriented activations.

The club’s new uniform featuring the Betfair logo was revealed this Thursday at a launch event in Rio de Janeiro. The event was attended by notable representatives of the club, including the athletes Vegetti, Paulinho, Léo, Keiller and Maicon, as well as Taty, India, Lidy, Vilmara, Guedes and Maria Vitória.

As a sign of respect for Vasco’s history, Betfair applied its logo to the number 1 uniform in a diagonal position. This move pays homage to Roberto Dinamite, one of the most noteworthy players to ever play for the club. The uniform will be debuted on May 12 when Vasco is said to play against Vitória.

The partnership will greatly expand Betfair’s presence, considering the club’s popularity. For context, Vasco da Gama has boasts some 20 million+ fans in Brazil and beyond.

Lúcio Barbosa, Vasco’s chief executive officer, commented on the matter, saying that his team feels honored to close the largest partnership in the soccer club’s history.

There were weeks of intense work to get the best for our club with a huge and consolidated company. We still have challenges ahead, but our commitment to working seriously and hard for Vasco continues.

Kimberly Daly, Betfair International’s general director, also commented on the sponsorship deal. According to Daly, the deal goes beyond a master sponsorship and is a “strategic collaboration based on shared values, excellence and passion for football.”

Daly added: “For us at Betfair, we are delighted to work together with a team that has growth objectives to strengthen the ties between the two brands. We are very excited to bring Vasco fans exclusive experiences that only Betfair can offer to bring fans even closer to their club, their heart and all the action of each match.”
