Big 12 softball tournament 2024 bracket, schedule, TV channel, live streams to watch Texas, Oklahoma and more
The Texas Longhorns enter this year’s Big 12 tournament as not only the No. 1 seed in the conference, but also the top team in the nation. Oklahoma State is coming off a series win at Oklahoma, the first series the Sooners have lost at home since 2006, creating more excitement heading into the postseason.
Despite that disappointing result, Oklahoma still secured the No. 2 seed, while Oklahoma State landed at No. 3. The Cowgirls are riding momentum into the tournament, having won 10 of their last 11 games. The Sooners did manage to steal the final game of the series to end the regular season on a positive note.
Only Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are ranked in D1Softball’s Top 25. There’s a decent amount of separation between these three schools and the rest of the Big 12 in terms of record, both in and out of conference play. Oklahoma State at No. 3 has a 44-9 overall record (21-6 in Big 12), and No. 4 Baylor is only 31-19 (14-13).
While it’s likely one of those three teams will take the tournament title home, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some upsets in this bracket. BYU has the third-highest overall batting average in the conference at .324, and Baylor’s Shaylon Govan has the second-best individual average at .445. BYU’s Ailana Agbayani has the most runs scored at 58 on the season, and Iowa State’s Angelina Allen has the conference’s highest hit total at 72.
Nevertheless, Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State own the conference’s best pitching staffs, all with collective ERAs below 2.02.
